Also, this film is almost 2 years in the making, but it is surely worth the wait. Premiering in June, here is the first sneak peek of "WORD?! I Didn't Know (__________) Could Get Down Like That"!, a documentary film that explores Hip Hop culture's role as a unifying (and sometimes divisive) force across cultural borders and language barriers. Filmed during the winter of 2005/2006, the crew of "WORD?!" embarked upon a "road trip" to Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa, the Netherlands, Rome, Paris, and London to interview Emcees, DJs, Beatboxers, B-boys, Writers, and Hip Hop fans alike. Featuring M-1 and stic.man of Dead Prez, Umi of P.O.W., Aloe Blacc, DJ Shamiel X, Juma4 and Mustafa Maluka of AfricanHipHop.com, Archetypes, Nat, Fifth Floor, DJ BlaQ T of MuthaFM, Lucky, MC G-Max of Flaminio Mafia, Senna, Lee and Kenzhero of YFM, Rajae el Mouhandiz, Bad Brya, 3 Mans Kappe, Pan-Africans and many others.....
So waking up on the wrong side of the bed this morning wasn't the greatest. However, finding this hidden gem from good 'ol 1982 made it all better. LOVE, PEACE and SOUL to all the nasty girls out there.
